In light of the recent allegations, well known high-profile Los Angeles attorney Gloria Allred stated to she was going to call on the Santa Barbara Department of Social Services to temporarily three young children. Jim Anderson the Santa Barbara County Sheriff has told us that charges Mr. Jackson has against him would not automatically prompt child welfare authorities to take action. Michael Jackson will be charged under a California law that defines molestation as "arousing, appealing to, or gratifying the lust, passions or sexual desires of" the offender or a child under age. The charge carries a penalty of three to eight years in prison. Were the real problem lies for Michael is that this is the second time in 10 years that such allegations have been made against him. A criminal probe in was launched in 1993 after a 13-year-old boy told his therapist Jackson sexually molested him for at least four months. Many remember his plea on prime time television to proclaim his innocence and how he described how humiliated he was that the police examined and photographed his penis. He described the entire episode as "the most humiliating ordeal of my life" In January 1994, Jackson quietly settled a civil suit filed by the boy's family and since the boy refused to testify criminal charges were never filed. This time with new allegations Michael is going to find it much harder for sympathy deserved or not and most of the people we interviewed would be "shocked and dismayed" if his children were not at least temporarily taken from his custody until this whole mess is straighten out? Remember. Nothing has been prove yet and these are only allegations. What do you feel? Send us your thoughts at vote for Michael |
